Certification of Out-of-Home
Care for Adults
The Out-of-Home Care Certification Program
verifies for Social Security purposes whether an adult is living in an out-of-home
board and care situation with relatives. If the adult's living arrangement is certified
to meet the eligibility requirements for Out-of-Home Care, the relative is eligible
to receive the Residential Care Facility rate of pay for caring for the aged, blind,
or disabled adult.
